Gladys Ruth Detamore Lynch Weaver, 94 of Zanesville passed away Monday October 19, 2009 at the Genesis Extended Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Warren, Indiana on September 28, 1915 to the late James and Effie Sparks Detamore. Gladys was a beautician for many years and also worked at Essex Wire on Ceramic Avenue. She once met John Fitzgerald Kennedy when he was running for President. She was a former president of the Columbus Senior Citizens. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
She is survived by: a son Donald Lynch of Zanesville, a daughter Patricia (James) Roberts of Nashport, a sister-in-law Peg Detamore of Pinellas Park, Florida, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: her first husband Alonzo Lynch and her second husband James Weaver, four brothers Mark, Slim, Jasper and Pete Detamore, and one sister Ruby Detamore.
Calling hours will be from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 PM Wednesday October 21, 2009 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 W. MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Funeral Services will be at 10 AM Thursday October 22, 2009 in the Snouffer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chuck Norris officiating. Burial will follow at the Glen Rest Memorial Estates in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
