Freda C. Wisecarver, age 89 of Sonora, died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday November 5, 2009 at the Beckett House in New Concord.
She was born February 14, 1920 in Caldwell, OH and was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Phelps) Wickham.
Freda was a homemaker and attended the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. She was active at the Muskingum County Senior Center, The Fieldhouse and a member of the Lilly Pond Band.
Surviving are her children: Ruth Carter, David (Judy) Huffman, Barbara (Jerry) Lane, Linda (Terry) Beach, Rick (Sharon) Wisecarver, Mike (Debbie) Wisecarver, and Donna (Fred) Lane. Step-children: Jim Wisecarver, Donald (Edna) Wisecarver, Thomas (Mary) Wisecarver, and Caroline Lane; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends at the Fieldhouse.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Leonard Ray Wisecarver who died February 19, 1993; three sisters: Lillian Hutton, Dorothy Dovenbarger and Thelma Wickham; two brothers: Alfred and Carl Wickham; Son-in-law, Ronnie Lane; step-grandson, Ronnie Lane, Jr., step-granddaughter, Shauna Lane, step daughter-in-law, Etta Mae Wisecarver, former sister-in-law, Margaret Mercer, great grandson, Charles Dean Huffman, and a special pet named Phoebe.
Calling hours will be from 1 – 5 pm Sunday November 8, 2009 and one hour prior to services which will be at 1:00 pm Monday at Bryan & Snider Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave., with Pastor Tom Hughes officiating. Committal services will follow at St. Paul Cemetery near Sonora.
