Johnny “John” Cleveland Barker, 79, passed away Thursday November 26, 2009 at The VA Hospital in Cincinnati.
John was born in Donwood, WV on April 21, 1930 to the late George Marvin and Ethel Clemons Barker. John was a member of the Eagles Aries # 1979 in Crooksville. John served his country and protected our freedom as a member of The United States Air Force during the Korean War.
John is survived by is ex-wife Nancy Barker of New Lexington; sons Harold (Tina) Barker of New Lexington, Rick Barker of Columbus, George (Barb) Barker of New Lexington, and Roger (Jenny) Barker of Crooksville; daughters Patty Boring of Zanesville, and Nancy (Gary) Likovic of Newark, a sister Melda (Jack) Eberle; 15 grandchildren and 10 ½ great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Robert Barker; brothers Thomas, Ed, and Ray Barker, and sisters Ruth Richards and Verda Barker.
In keeping the family’s wishes, a cremation will take place with a memorial service to be held at a future date. THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, CROOKSVILLE CHAPEL, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville has the distinct honor of serving the Barker family.
