Zanesville – Daniel Lee “Boone” Cottrell, 56, of Zanesville, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus due to complications from heart surgery.
He was born to the late Raymond and Cleo Pletcher Cottrell on Oct. 14, 1953.
He was a truck driver and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, Zanesville Chapter. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren; Laken, Katie-Bug and Moo-Moo.
He is survived by his better half, Karen Frame, and her children, Leonard and Lucy Hayhurst; Lucy’s boyfriend, Steve Gill, and their children, ‘Papaw’s babies,’ Laken, Caidance and Madison; and foster grandchildren, Kyle and Allen Taylor. He is also survived by sisters, Vickie (Danny) Long and Sandy Yester; Vickie’s daughters, Shelby and her family, Angie and her family and Vanessa and her family; close cousins, Russ, Randall, Brenda and Mike; special friends, Jonathan Wolfe, Tom Harrier, Kirby and Mac; Aunt Violet Wallace; and several other cousins, aunts, uncles, great-nieces, great-nephews; loving friends and Karen’s family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Barker.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. with funeral services following at 4:00 PM Tuesday, Deccember 22, 2009, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 West Military Road, Zanesville, with Pastor William Meaige officiating. According to Dan’s wishes, he will be cremated after services. Following services will be a covered dish dinner at the D.A.V. Please bring a dish if you wish.
