Robert “Bob” G. Schaum, 91, of Zanesville, died at 6:40 PM Wednesday January 13, 2010 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.
Bob was born October 28, 1918 in Zanesville the son of the late Harrison F. and Bertha M. Little Schaum. He was an Army Veteran of WW II and retired in 1980 as a supervisor for the Ohio Power Company. Bob enjoyed watching his grandsons swimming meets and football games at Ohio University. He also liked Ohio State football and basketball, steam engine trains and pipe organ music. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Bob cared for his ill wife, Wilma, for many years.
Surviving Bob are his daughters: Tricia Schaum of Strongsville, Sheila (Patrick) Shelby of Gahanna and Joyce (Steve) Perdue of Westerville, grandchildren: Alisha, Matthew and Jessica Perdue and Michael and David Shelby, grand doggies: Gretel and Shelby.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife: Wilma Andrews Schaum who died 5/22/2005 and brother: Edwin Schaum.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 PM Friday January 15, 2010 and one hour prior to funeral services at 12:00 PM Saturday January 16, 2010 at Bryan & Snider Funeral Home 2318 Maple Ave. Father Jordan Turano from St. Thomas Catholic Church will officiate with committal service to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
