HILLIS & HARDWICK FUNERAL HOME OBITUARY:

Jean Marie Dittmar, 91 of Zanesville, died 3:34 PM Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Genesis Good Samaritan ER following a sudden illness. She was born Monday, January 28, 1918 in Grove City, the daughter of George Lawrence Hoover and Margaret Ellen (Alkire) Hoover-Stiffler. She married Fred Eugene Dittmar on Wednesday, February 14, 1940 and was Methodist By Faith.

Jean Marie was a graduate of The Bethesda School of Nursing and retired as a Registered Nurse following over 40 years of service. She loved archeology and enjoyed hunting arrowheads, Indian artifacts and painting. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who greatly enjoyed spending time with her family.

Jean Marie Dittmar is survived by one daughter: Lynn Ellen Fulks-Moehrman & Robert Moehrman and one son: Kurt Eric & Penny Dittmar both of Zanesville; seven grandchildren: Denise Michelle & Keith Brown, Andrea Lee & Richard Gillette, Benjamin Eric & Amber Dittmar, Lisa Marie & Paul Yurco, Lance Matthew & Dawn Fulks, Peter Jeremy & Rhonda Fulks, Kathryn Laine ,Troy Hawthorne and David & Michelle Moehrman; fifteen great grandchildren: Michael Allen & Mandy Doyle, Jason Paul & Heather Doyle, Andrew Paul Fulks, Ashley Lynelle Fulks, Erica Woodrum, Nathaniel Paul Fulks, Justin Michael Hawthorne, Jerod Paul Hawthorne, Bradley Allen Brown, Kaleb Leigh Brown and Anna Rose Gillette, Elijah John Gillette, Cyrus Benjamin Dittmar, Eva Camille Dittmar, and Ingrid Suzanne Dittmar; two great, great grand children: Michael Allen Doyle, Jr. & Bella Marie Doyle; two sisters: Joyce Hoover of Edmond, OK and Linda Stiffler Renico of Grove City; one brother: Paul (Louise) Hoover of Obetz.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Fred Eugene Dittmar who died January 30, 1989, two sisters: Garnet Hoover and Lois Blue and two brothers: Jerald Hoover and Earl Hoover.

A caring cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 24, at The Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue where a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Sturman Moore Officiating. Private Inurnment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army or a charity of one's choice in Jean Marie's memory.
