CHARLES HAROLD SNIDER SR. 86 of Zanesville passed away at his residence on Saturday February 27, 2010.
Charles was born on June 21, 1923 in Huntington, WV to the late Huey Lee and Genny Nicholson Snider. He was retired from Armco Steel and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1058, American Legion Post 29, Moose Lodge 663, and enjoyed Camping at Camper’s Grove, NASCAR, Fishing, Woodworking, Animals especially his dogs Tarzan and Jane, Roller Skating at Edgewater Beach, and was the former owner of two Service Stations in Zanesville. Charles served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp in Europe during WWII.
He is survived by two daughters Genny (Ron) Zwahlen of Hopewell and Barbara Snider of Zanesville, a son John Snider of Montana, five grandchildren Heidi (Mike) Secoy, Wendy (Kevin) Eby, Phillip (Beth) Snider, Amy (Jerry) Brand, and Ean Snider, and 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Martha J. Snider, his step mother Clara Snider, a son Charles H. Snider Jr., three brothers Huey Snider , John Snider ,and Garth Wilson. Four sisters Mary Jones, Doris Yuhasz, Emma Lou Schute, and Desi Miller.
Calling hours will be from 5-8pm on Tuesday March 2 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. The funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday in the Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Martha Gross officiating. The George Selsam V.F. W. Post 1058 will provide Full Military Honors at the Funeral Home.
