Dawn J. Scheibelein, 61, of Zanesville died 3:00 AM, Sunday April 11 at Genesis Good Samaritan Medical Center following a sudden illness. She was born January 8, 1949 in Brooklyn N. Y. the daughter of the late, Charles C. and Helen (Hopkins) Scheibelein, and preceded in death by her brother, Darryl J. Scheibelein and sister Helen L. (Hunny) Scheibelein.
Dawn was a retired bookkeeper for a number of State and Federal agencies. She spent 13 years in Camp Verde Arizona caring for her ailing and dependent parents until their passing, moving then to Zanesville to be close to her immediate family in 2007. She was a very generous, kind and caring person. Dawn loved to sing and participated in choirs and choral groups most of her life. Her favorite pastime was creating special heirloom crafts for her family. Dawn currently worked for Experience Works at Community Action Agency of Zanesville. Dawn is survived by her brother C.C. Scheibelein of Garland, Texas, her sister, Pastor Kate Newsom of Zanesville, five nieces and nephews, Yvette (Dave) Dicks of So. Zanesville: Barry (Deanna) Newsom of Lakeland Florida, Steven (Gretchen) Newsom of Zanesville, Susan (Chad) Kennedy of Zanesville and Grace Scheibelein of Michigan. Also, 10 great nieces and nephews and 3 great-great nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebration of Dawn’s life will be held Friday April 16th at 6pm at the Muskingum Valley Vineyard Church, 299 Putnam Ave. Zanesville located at the end of the 6th Street Bridge.
