James Jackson Shores, 86 of Zanesville passed away on Saturday June 5, 2010 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. He was born on June 23, 1923 to the late William Henry and Irene Knoah Shores in Sherwood, TN. James worked in Maintenance as a repairman for Wyman-Gordon Forging Shop in Harvey, IL from 1951 – 1987. He was a member of the Dresden Road Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife Mildred King Reed Shores of Zanesville whom he married on May 16, 1976, a son Richard James Shores of IL, two daughters Karen Irene Reight of FL, and Judith Ann Rice of IL, a brother Edward Leon (Evelyn) Shores of Harvey, IL, two sisters Mary Louise Davis of Flintville, TN and Bethel L. Syler of Huntland, TN, , a brother-in-law, Fred Medley of TN, three grandchildren, Frankie Romine, Patricia Romine and Richard James Shores and two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Clifton Irene Shores, Ethel Francis Bryant and Perlene Medley, two brothers-in-law Downey Davis and Bud Syler.
Visitation will be from 10 – 11 AM on Wednesday June 9, 2010 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 W. Military Road Zanesville, Ohio.
Funeral Services will be at 11AM on Wednesday June 9, 2010 in THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with Pastor Cecil Sagraves officiating. Burial will follow at the Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of one’s choice.
