Michael (Mike) L. Helser 52 of Crooksville found his peace with God after fighting a long and courageous battle with cancer at his home on Tuesday August 24, 2010. He was born December 13, 1957 to the late Paul and Rose Ann Hill Helser, he attended Iliff United Methodist Church in Crooksville and the Community Bible Study. He was a former truck driver for Wendy’s New Bakery in Zanesville. Mike was a member of the NRA was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed riding his four-wheeler.
Survivors include: His devoted wife Ruby Reed, Four Step-sons, Joe (Jody) Ratliff, Tony (Katie) Ratliff, Chad Ratliff and Timothy (Angie) Ratliff. , his sisters, Debbie and Cindy Helser, brother Ron Helser, Loving Step-father Richard Goodin and Step-mother Billie Goodin, Step-sisters Doris and Becky. The lights of his life were his thirteen grandchildren. His faithful canine companion Nikita and his wonderful hospice nurses.
Calling hours will be held from 3 – 6 PM Friday August 27, 2010 at the Iliff United Methodist Church. The Funeral Service will follow at 6:00 PM with Pastor David Helser, Raymond Reed and Pastor John Sellers officiating.
