THOMPSON-FARUS FUNERAL HOME
Freda Maxine Spillman, 83 of Bolivar, passed away 1:20 am on January 28, 2011 at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover.
Freda was born September 18, 1927 in Belle Valley, OH, the daughter of the late Elmer and Mary (Carpenter) McCune. She graduated from Canton Lincoln High School in 1945. She worked at the Timken Company and the Jackson Local School District in Stark County as a librarian where she retired after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church. She enjoyed being with her family and friends and spending time attending her grandchildren’s school, 4-H and sporting events.
Freda is survived by her three sons Mark C. (Wendy) Spillman of Bolivar, Kirk E. (Lori) Spillman of Zoar and Eric T. (Nancy) Spillman of Bolivar; one brother Carl (Charlotte) McCune of Duncan Falls; two sisters Geraldine Rapp of Canton and Lucille Shook of Duncan Falls; six grandchildren Cindy, Scott, David, Matt, Todd, Steven and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Freda is preceded in death by her husband Charles Franklin Spillman who passed away Feb 17, 2002, and a sister Donna Dingey.
Visitations will be 2 to 5 pm Sunday and 12 to 1 pm Monday at the Thompson-Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls, where funeral services will be 1 pm with Reverend Paula Koch officiating. Burial will follow in Ark Spring Cemetery.
