Thompson-Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls
JAMES W. SCOTT, 84 of Chandlersville, passed away at 2 pm, Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Genesis Good Samaritan Emergency Room.
Jim was born May 4th 1927 in Cambridge, OH the son of the late H. Foster and Helen (Kuenzli) Scott. He retired in 1990 from Central Ohio Coal Company and he was a lifetime area farmer, he was a former member of the Cumberland United Methodist Church for 78 years and a current member of the Market Street Baptist Church, Zanesville. Jim graduated from Cumberland High School in 1945 and he was an OSU graduate with a Associate Degree in Animal Husbandry. Jim was a member of the Ohio Cheviot Association, a former Central Committeeman of Richhill Twp., former member of the Carlwick and Pomona Granges and he served his country in the US Army from 1946 – 1947 in the Military Police. Jim loved working in his vegetable garden, photography, building fence and especially raising Cheviot sheep.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Mary Evelyn (Archer) Scott whom he married October 22, 1950; a son Matthew “Bud” (Stephanie) Scott of Chandlersville; a daughter Rebecca (Tom) Baughman of Rix Mills; grandchildren Bryan (Amy) Baughman, Mark (Michele) Baughman, Sarah (Tim) Tewksbary, Susan Scott, Andrew Scott and Anna Scott and his great grandchildren Cade, Laurie, Saydee, Connar, Libbee, Caleb, Abigail, Hannah and Joel.
In addition to his parents Jim is preceded in death by a brother George A. Scott who passed away in 2008 and a sister Margaret Ellen Herreman who passed away in 2007.
Visitations will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Friday, May 27th at the Thompson-Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls, where funeral services will be 11 am Saturday with Pastor Tim Patton officiating and Pastor Westley Anderson and Pastor Jay Loucks assisting. Burial will follow in Rich Hill Cemetery.
