Gerald Marquis Baker, 98, of Zanesville, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Genesis Hospice & Palliative Care. He was born September 7, 1914, in Coal Run, Ohio, a son of the late Ira Bernard and Lillis Van Fleet Baker. He was the owner and operator of Baker Motel. He was a member of the Coburn United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Gary Baker of North Carolina; two daughters, Carol Baker of Zanesville and Joanne Prugh of Newark, OH; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles Zuck and Richard Zuck.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Mason Baker, who passed away December 24, 2010.
Calling hours will be held from noon until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W MILITARY RD., ZANESVILLE with Dr. Dennis Baker officiating. Gerald will be laid to rest next to his wife, Mary, at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
