Martha Ellen Arbaugh McMillan, 100 of Zanesville passed away at the Helen Purcell Home on Sunday, November 25, 2012.
She was born May 20, 1912 in Oark, Arkansas. She married Harciel L. McMillan October 8, 1935. Ellen was the seventh of nine and the last living child born to David Benjamin Arbaugh and Rhoda Allen Arbaugh.
Ellen was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Bowling and golf were her favorite sports and she won many awards and trophies. She was a member of the Bethesda Senior League and volunteered many years turning on television sets and pushing the cart at Bethesda Hospital. Ellen traveled with her girlfriends and her husband to all of the states except Washington State.
She is survived by her son H. Wayne McMillan and his wife Janice. Two Granddaughters, Sally (Otto) Luburgh and Nancy McMillan Darby. She leaves seven great grandchildren: Nicholas Darby, Emily Stainbrook, Danny Darby, Grant Stainbrook, Kelly Stainbrook, Ellie Darby and Scooter Darby.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Harciel L. McMillan, who died in 1983, and infant son, five brothers: Chester, David, Adam, Odis and Jimmy, three sisters: Nettie Campbell, Violet Long and Velma Kenady.
The family is being served by the BRYAN & SNIDER FUNERAL HOME, A Graveside service will be conducted by Rev. Joy French on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 10:30 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery in Zanesville. There will be no public visitation.
