Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls
Madelyne M. Hazen Thompson, 93, of Philo, passed away at 5:05 pm on Friday, March 1, 2013, at Genesis Good Samaritan Medical Center.
Madelyne was born August 23, 1919 in Little Hocking, OH the daughter of the late William V. and Ola F. (Foster) Hill. She was the owner and operator of Hazen Garage in Philo, a member of the Twin Cities Garden Club, Olive Branch OES and the Rebecca Lodge of OES, she was an avid bowler and a member of the Philo Bridge Club and the Philo Grace United Methodist Church.
Madelyne is survived by her two daughters: Martha (Mike) Kieffer of Zanesville, Jennifer (Buddy) Ward of Philo, and a son Bob (Lisa) Hazen of Philo; her grandchildren Lori Driscoll, Tony Hazen, Rebecca Hazen, Nikki Ward, Michelle Walsh and Brad Ward and seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Edgar Hazen who passed away Dec. 12, 1958, her second husband James Thompson who passed away July 19, 2002 and her two sisters Adra Baker and Madge Hutcheson.
Visitation will be 3 to 5 pm Sunday, March 3rd 2013 at the Farus Funeral home in Duncan Falls where the funeral will be 11 am Monday, burial will follow in Duncan Falls Cemetery.
