Harold Rodney Ansel, 66, of Roseville, passed away at 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born on August 4, 1946, in Santoy, Ohio, in Perry County, a son of the late Claude and Mabel Smith Ansel. He had worked as a patrolman for the Newark and Roseville Police Departments, as a deputy for the Perry County Sheriff’s Department, for Owens Corning Fiberglass, Haliburton, was a pottery owner and as a minister at the Corning United Methodist Church. He was a member of Lifeway Church in South Zanesville and was Past Master of Doric Lodge #172 F&AM in Deavertown.
Surviving are his wife, Louella Cherry Ansel of the home; two sons, Paul (Berona) Ansel of South Zanesville and Patrick (Vanessa) Ansel of Crooksville; two daughters, Paula (Mike) Coulson of Zanesville and Pauletta (Michael) Kreiger of Canal Winchester, OH; 9 grandchildren, Nicholas (Ashley) Robison, Brandon Robison, Amanda Ansel, Paul Ansel Jr., Haley Robison, Jared Coulson, Jordan Coulson, Alivia Ansel and Noah Ansel; a half-brother, Isaac Herd of Lima, OH; and a step sister, Fern Lyle of Crooksville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Paley Ansel, who passed away in 1993.
Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 207 BURLEY STREET, CROOKSVILLE where Doric Lodge #172 F&AM will hold Masonic Services at 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at The LifeWay Church, 2450 Maysville Pike, Zanesville with Pastors James Henderson and Arthur Potts officiating. Harold will be laid to rest in Ebenezer Church Cemetery, Roseville.
