Virginia Weaver, 96, of Crooksville, went home to be with the Lord at 10:45 p.m. on Monday, April 8, 2013 following a brief illness. She was born on November 6, 1916, in Crooksville, a daughter of the late Everett and Belva Hoops Karr. She was a 1935 graduate of Crooksville High School where she lettered in basketball for 3 years. She was employed by the Crooksville China, Watt Pottery, and Hull Pottery until its closing. She was a member of M.O.E.N.T.I.T.A. Card Club for over 50 years. She was a lifelong member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Crooksville. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and was loved by all who knew her.
Surviving are a daughter, Kaye (Mark) Redfern of Zanesville; a son, Kevin (Mary Ann) Weaver of Crooksville; a daughter-in-law, Kaye Weaver of Newark; 5 grandchildren, Tonya (Chris) Cameron, Kyle (Diane) Redfern, Kristin (Tyler) Baughman, Whitney Weaver, and Katie Weaver; 4 great grandchildren, Lily Cameron, Ethan Cameron, Emilee Redfern, and Karli Redfern; two sisters, Ruth Ann Talbot of Crooksville and June Matheney of Westerville; and a very special friend, Ida Rennard of Deavertown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Weaver, who passed away in 1980; a son, Roger Weaver, who passed away in 2009; siblings, Otis Karr, Lucy Brehm, Audra Shipley, Iona Johnson, Violet Karr, and Victor Karr.
Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 207 BURLEY STREET, CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Dan Hinkle officiating. Virginia will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery.
