James “Jim” D. Jenkins, 70 of Zanesville, passed away at 11:03 am Friday, July 26, 2013 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House following a brief illness.
Jim was born June 17, 1943 in Zanesville the son of the late Charles Edward and Eleanor Pearl (Patterson) Jenkins. He worked as a carpenter for Jenkins Brothers Construction; he enjoyed working in his garage and tinkering with his toys; he was a member of the Fultonham American Legion; the Fultonham Masonic Lodge and he served his country in the US Army serving in the 544 Transportation unit in Baumholder, Germany.
Jim is survived by his wife Glenna (Pride) Jenkins whom he married May 22, 1965; his children Fred Jenkins (Melissa Coe), Sheri Pride (Robin Dunlap), Marty (Amber) Jenkins and Ed (Brenda) Jenkins all of Zanesville; his grandchildren Heather, Haley, Ian, Jamie, Brian, Colten, Cayden, WesleyAnn (Josh), Dawn Marie (Jason), Corey, J.D., Raine and Hunter; his great-grandchildren Kolvin, Kaelynne, Adisan, Zailor, Kyrie, Mailee; his sister Georgiana Tudy Murphy and his K-9 companion Charlie.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his three brothers Ronnie, Marvin and Eddie Jenkins.
The Jenkins family has entrusted the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls with arrangements and there will be a memorial service at a later date.
