Nick Mesre 84 of Zanesville passed away on Sunday July 28, 2013 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. He was born in Zanesville on January 13, 1929 to the late Sam and Mary Makhool Mesre. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and V.F. W. 1058. He was the former owner of Pine Pizza and Nicoletti’s Pizzeria, and was a cook at The Barn. Nick served our country and protected our freedom in The US Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by two brothers George Mesre and Herb Mesre, a sister Marguerite Mesre all of Zanesville, a niece Jodi Witte, a nephew Sam Mesre, and very special friends who have impacted his life; Lyndon (Marianne) Christman, Bethany Watson, Aundrea Noe, Ira Noe, Ben, and Francis White.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Mose “Uncle Mose” Mesre and two sisters Yvonne Mesre and Josephine Mesre.
Calling hours will be 4-7pm on Wednesday July 31, 2013 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Thursday in The Snouffer Chapel with Rev. Robert E. Willmann officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with Full Military honors by George Selsam VFW Post 1058.
