Robert J “Bob” Rambo, 90, of Crooksville, passed away August 11, 2013 at Willow Haven Nursing Home. He was born July 8, 1923 in Crooksville, to the late Jacob “Harry” and Emma (Whitehead) Rambo. He is a former truck driver for Hennes and R&S Trucking. Bob was a member of the Crooksville Peerless Lodge #591 F & AM, American Legion Post #222, VFW Post #9090 and was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason belonging to the Valley of Cambridge. He served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the US Marines in the Pacific Theater of WWII. Bob is survived by his loving wife Clara (Thorp) Rambo; daughter, Shirley (Don) Hinkle of Crooksville; sons, Robert J Rambo II and H. Kim (Debbie) Rambo both of Crooksville; grandchildren, Marnie (Kirk) Williams, Brian (Barb) Dusenberry, Michelle (Aaron) Turk, Matt (Kristen) Rambo, Nicole (Jeff) Shaffer, Melissa Rambo and Jamie (Jessica) Hinkle; 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by sisters, Hazel Watt, Izetta King and Jean MacLean. Calling hours will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 207 BURLEY ST. CROOKSVILLE with Masonic services conducted by Peerless Lodge #591 at 7:45 p.m. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
