Thomas C. Shirer, beloved husband, father and Grandfather passed away at Cedar Hill Care Center on Wednesday September 18,2013. He was under Hospice Care.
He was born April 17,1924 in Muskingum County and was the son of Wilmer and Ina (Gardner) Shirer, both deceased. A 1942 graduate of Adamsville High School and also a graduate of Meredith Business Co11ege.
He retired from State of Ohio Department of Transportation on May 31, 1985. Thomas worked at Quality Furniture Store, McGraw Edison Corporation, office of DeLille Oxygen and is a member of East Forty Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Bonnie Jean (Morrison) Shirer whom he married April 28,1951. Also surviving are a daughter Victoria (Terry) Sheets, granddaughter Stephanie Sheets and grandson Broc Sheets. Also a son, Daniel (Cynthia) Shirer and granddaughters Leighann and Kaylee Shirer; a sister Alice R. Shirer and a brother Bill J. Shirer
Deceased are Betty J. Ardrey, sister and brothers Rollin, Robert, Howard “Dutch”, Richard, Ralph and two infant sisters.
Visitation will be held from 5pm to 8pm on Saturday Sept 21st with Funeral Services being held at 2pm Sunday Sept. 22nd with Pastor Roger Morrow officiating at the Bryan & Snider Funeral Home, 2318 Maple Ave. Burial will conclude at St. Paul Cemetery near Sonora.
