Mary “Carol” Ann Miller Freshly, 80, passed away at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 surrounded by her family at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Carol was born April 12, 1933 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Elmer and Carol Aretta Tyree Miller.
Carol graduated from Springfield High School. She worked for the Bureau of Employment Services for 24 ½ years before she retired in 1994. She was also a member of Rolling Plains United Methodist Church and enjoyed sending cards to church family members for birthdays, anniversaries, and other occasions. According to many family members, she made the best potato salad and dressing. She lived on behalf of others, but what brought the biggest smile to her face was when her grandchildren would come and visit.
Carol is survived by her husband of 57 years, Rev. Orlo Freshly of the home; also by her children, Lexa Freshly of Zanesville, Lezlee (Carl) Baker of Zanesville, Lindsay (Jenny) Freshly of Westerville, and Lora (Brent) Sidwell of Zanesville; her grandchildren, Mallory (Clint) Hughes, Alex Sidwell, Douglas Sidwell, Bryce Sidwell, Connor Sidwell, Tristan Freshly, Gabrielle Freshly and Sabrina Freshly; her sister, Marjorie (Daniel) Klinger of Milan, Ohio; her brother, Martin Lee (Kay) Miller of Los Lunas, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and her beloved grandson Jacob W. Baker. Memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice Care, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville , Ohio 43701.
