Jean Ann Whikehart Anslow 66, of Zanesville, passed away Wednesday January 1, 2014, at her home. Jean was born May 4, 1947 in Harlan Kentucky to Edward and Freda (Scott) Whikehart. She was a beloved mother and friend to many; always willing to lend a caring ear and help those in need.
Jean worked as a realtor for Don Thompson Real estate, as well as a book keeper for both Nicholson Refrigeration and later A&E Heating and Cooling which she ran with her husband Bill. Jean loved to spend time laughing with family and friends, and enjoyed singing karaoke.
As a lifelong member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church, Jean held strongly to her unwavering faith in God and love for family. Jean is survived by her sons: Scott Gilbert, Sr. and Christopher Anslow of Zanesville; her daughters Kelly (Anslow) Lopez of Cleveland and Angela (Anslow) Rucker of East Fultonham. Jean was also the loving grandmother of Justin Corder, Scott Gilbert, Jr., William Gilbert, Marissa Lopez, Seth Anslow, Bryce Rucker, and Briar Rucker, as well as great-great grandmother to Matt Corder, Elijah Gilbert and Clara Gilbert. She was preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) Anslow in June 2009.
In lieu of flower donations can be made to the church or to Christ’s Table.
Visitation will be held from 12-1pm on Tuesday January 14, 2014, concluding with a memorial service at 1pm with Rev. Tom England officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
