James F. McDonough, age 61, of Zanesville, OH, passed away of natural causes at his residence on Wednesday, February 26, 2014. He was born May 21, 1952 in Washington, PA, a son of the late Clarence F. and Lena (Sibert) McDonough Jr. Jim graduated from Zanesville High School, West Liberty State College and Ohio University where he received his master’s degree in education. He was retired from Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center after 35 years. Jim was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan who enjoyed fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed singing and playing his guitar with the “Atta Boys”. Jim was a member of West Union Presbyterian Church of Sycamore, PA, the Zanesville VFW Post 1058 and the Zanesville American Legion Post 29. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Barbara McDonough; daughters, Erin (Brad) Wilson and Jaime McDonough both of Zanesville; sisters, Linda (Pete) Shriver and Carol (Art) Hathaway both of Washington, PA; grandson, Case Wilson and several nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard D. McDonough and granddaughter, Quinn Elizabeth Wilson. A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00 until the time of memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY RD. ZANESVILLE.
