Following my vacation to North Carolina last week, I went to my doctor for a check-up Monday. I've gained seven pounds since my last appointment two weeks ago! Dr. Aepli says it's “vacation weight,” I however almost had a heart attack when those numbers started to appear on the scale haha. Luckily the doctor says everything is going good and I've even been taken off “Level One Bed Rest.”
It's not all roses though. Two weeks ago when I had my ultra-sound they found my subchorionic hemorrhage was still there. The hemorrhage was the reason I was put on bed rest in the first place. The best way to describe a subchorionic hemorrhage is a gathering of blood between the uterus and the placenta or a blood clot. It's unknown what causes this to happen. There's also really no treatment for it. The body can just get rid of the clot itself or I may have it for the rest of my pregnancy. There is some potential for it to cause pregnancy complications. As of now my subchorionic hemorrhage does not seem to be getting any bigger so that's a good sign. It will not be a concern unless I start to show other symptoms that there may be a problem with the baby.
My camerawoman Kim came along to the ultrasound two weeks ago and we will be airing the video this Friday. So everyone tune in at 6 p.m. to get a first look at the baby! The baby is already getting big, 13-ounces to be exact.
