I'm officially 38 weeks pregnant. The baby is considered “full-term” at 37 weeks, though your due date is set for 40 weeks. So now it's just a waiting game to see when Grant will decide to make his arrival. My due date is December 29th. Dr. Aepli says that he doesn't want me going past my due date because of my health condition, so we may have to look toward induction if the baby does not arrive by then on his own.
On Wednesday I had an ultrasound- hopefully my last. It showed Grant is now around 6 pounds 10 ounces. I was 6 pounds 7 ounces, so he already has me beat! My husband was 8 pounds 1 ounce, so it seems as though Grant is taking after his daddy. I'm up to 161 pounds right now and gaining! It's definitely getting harder and harder to get around. Anyone who has been 38 weeks pregnant before knows my pain. I'm definitely not one of those pregnant women who feel healthy and energetic. I'm in the tired and uncomfortable pregnant women group haha.
My last day on the 11 o'clock news will be Wednesday, December 22nd, unless the baby is born sooner. That will give me a week before my due date to relax and finish up some last minute details, plus celebrate Christmas with the family. I'm planning on taking six weeks off once the baby is born, but I'll be back. We'll definitely let everyone know as soon as the little man makes his grand debut. And of course he'll be making an appearance on the WHIZ News.
