Last season, the Zanesville Blue Devils made their second Final Four appearance in three years.  To get back to the state semifinal this season, they will have to rely on a bunch of new faces.

Leading the charge for the Blue Devils this season will be first year starting quarterback Tyce Norman and tight end/ defensive end RJ Harris.

ZHS opens play on Friday against Newark.

The Zanesville Lady Devils defeated the Dover Lady Tornadoes 2-0 in girls soccer on Monday at Sulsberger Stadium.  

After a scoreless first half, juniors Hallie Kimble and Leikyn Dalponte each scored goals for Zanesville.

The Lady Devils are now 2-0 on the season and will face Newark on Saturday.

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — The U.S. Olympic men's basketball team won its third straight gold medal and did it easily, beating Serbia 96-66 on Sunday.

The Rosecrans Bishops first football game of 2016 season against Fisher Catholic has been moved to Sulsberger Stadium on Saturday, August 27th at 7:30.

According to Zanesville High School Athletic Director Scott Aronhalt, Fisher Catholic is having problems due to field conditions.

The West Muskingum Tornadoes defeated Maysville 1-0 in boy's soccer on Saturday at the Maysville Athletic Complex.  Luke Scott scored the lone goal for West Muskingum.

The Zanesville Junior Pioneers held a meet-and-greet at Gant Stadium Saturday afternoon to celebrate their AAABA championship.

The Juniors signed autographs and were fitted for rings that they will receive in December.

Zanesville will also get to meet former MLB catcher Hal Naragon during the ring ceremony.

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Saturday, Ohio University Zanesville recognized their first ever basketball team by hanging a banner at Fred Taylor Gym to honor the founding fathers of Tracers hoops.

40 players from the late 1960s and early 70s met on campus to see the new banner and reminisce about the old days. OUZ’s first intercollegiate team was organized in 1968 and played other Ohio regional campus teams.

The lone underclassman from John Glenn's state championship starting lineup has moved to the Ohio Capital Conference.

Junior guard JahVon Blevins is attending school and will play basketball at Pickerington High School Central. Blevins told WHIZ that he has moved to Pickerington and will be eligible to play for the Tigers at the start of the 2016-17 season.
