The Coshocton Cherokees made history on Wednesday by beating St. Clairsville, 10-2, in the state legion tournament. The win marked Coshocton's first victory in the state tournament since 1976. The Cherokees will battle Circleville Thursday night at 7.

In GLSCL  semifinal action, the Licking County Settlers fell to Lima, 4-3. The Settlers are in a must-win situation as the series shifts to Newark Thursday night. First pitch at 7:05.

The Licking County Settlers defeated the Grand Lake Mariners 11-4 to advance to a 3-game series with the Lima Locos in the semifinal round of the Great Lakes Summer Collegeiate League tournament.

Licking County had a 2-0 lead going into the sixth inning, but put up seven runs in the sixth to take a 9-0 lead.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Troubled Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon has been reinstated to the NFL on a conditional basis.

Commissioner Roger Goodell informed Gordon on Monday that he can rejoin the team during training camp and will be allowed to participate in meetings and conditioning work. The league said once Gordon meets clinical requirements, he will be allowed to participate in all preseason activities, including practices and games.

The Zanesville Senior Pioneers defeated the Newark Diamonds 7-3 to win the Central Ohio League championship.  

The Senior's were down 1-0 heading to the fourth inning, but would regain the lead.

West Virginia defeated Ohio 26-6 in the 72nd OVAC All-Star game.  

Ohio finished with two field goals in the game, both by Cambridge kicker Adam Fox.  Caldwell grad Tanner Clark led Ohio on the ground with 70 yards on 13 carries.

A strong contingent of local talent will strap up for the 72nd annual OVAC all-star football game, with Cambridge's Kevin Gunn serving as head coach of the Ohio squad. The game kicks off Saturday night at 7:15 from Wheeling Island Stadium.

The Muskingum Fighting Muskies have played on the same field turf at Sherman Field for the past 12 seasons.  That will change this fall when the Fighting Muskies will play on Field Turf Revolution 360, a state-of-the-art technology.

The new turf will be home to the football, men's and women's soccer, and men's and women's lacrosse teams.

The Fighting Muskies football team will hold their first home game of the season September 17th against Capital.
