The Phillies lured Jim Thome away from his home, his heart and thousands of adoring fans. Then again, 27 million dollars can do that. Philadelphia signed Thome to a 6 year, 87 million dollar contract Monday. The Indians offer of 5 years, 60 million and continued love fell short. Now in the city of brotherly love, Thome leaves as Cleveland's career and single season leader in home runs, 334 and 52 respectively. The 1st baseman has spent his entire career, 12 years, with the Indians.
