Apparently, Kevin Martin's worst equals everyone else's best.
Martin scored a game-high 19 points, his second-lowest point total of the season, in Western Carolina's 72-71 overtime win against Southeastern Louisiana in the Holiday Stores/Big R Classic tournament at Montana State University Monday night.
Martin, a Zanesville native, scored six of the Catamounts' nine points in overtime. He also assisted on the game-winning 3-pointer made by Lancaster native Kyle Greathouse.
"(The Lions) played sell-out defense on Kevin," WCU coach Steve Shurina told the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. "They were in his proverbial jockstrap. But we've got other guys who can step up and make plays and they did."
Martin, a 6-7 junior guard, grabbed a game-high seven rebounds for Western Carolina (6-3). The ZHS grad leads the nation in scoring, 28.7 points per game.
WCU plays the host Montana State Bobcats 10 pm (ET) Tuesday night.
