Cleveland acquired one reliever while watching another leave Monday.
The Indians traded two minor-league players to Montreal for left-handed reliever Scott Stewart Monday. Stewart saved 17 games for the Expos in 2002.
On the same day, former Tribe closer Danys Baez signed a deal with Tampa Bay.
Baez lost his job as Cleveland's closer during 2003. He still saved 25 games while posting a 3.81 ERA.
Stewart went 3-1 with a 3.98 ERA in 51 relief appearances last season. He missed 47 games from July to September after an emergency appendectomy.
He's also eligible for arbitration. Cleveland GM Mark Shapiro says he wants to sign Stewart to a one-year deal.
