As if Winston to Nextel wasn't enough.
Major changes may be on the way for NASCAR this year. The sport is considering a proposal where only the top 10 drivers after 26 races would be eligible to win the championship. Those 10 would compete over the final 10 races of the season.
The discussions come after Matt Kenseth won the 2003 Winston Cup Championship despite only winning one race during the year. Ryan Newman won eight races but finished sixth in the final standings.
