Maurice Clarett may not play in college or the pros next season.

A three-judge federal appeals court decided Tuesday to hear the Maurice Clarett trial April 19th, less than a week before the 2004 NFL Draft. The judges say they may rush a decision to determine the eligibility of Clarett, USC receiver Mike Williams and seven others who declared for the draft.

Clarett, a former Ohio State running back who helped the Buckeyes win the National Championship in 2002-2003, won a case against the NFL after a federal judge determined the league violated antitrust laws with a rule that prohibited players from entering the draft until three years removed from high school.

Clarett hired an agent after the court ruling, so his college eligibility would also be in question.
