Monday afternoon at a special West Muskingum School District board meeting, the board accepted the resignation of head football  and boys track coach Paul Perry. According to West Muskingum Athletic Director Daryl Satterfield, Perry has been considering a move to Florida to be closer to his children for the past few years, deciding that this year was the right time to do it. Through four seasons on the hill, Perry posted a record of 18-23, leading the Tornadoes to a playoff berth in 2009 with a 9-2 record. This leaves West Muskingum without a coach for the upcoming football season, and little time to replace him. Satterfield said the search to replace Perry will begin immediately, with coaches within the district given the first chance to apply.
