MVL girls keep pace with one another

Girls Basketball

Zanesville 47 Marietta 56

The Lady Devils fall on the road, dropping their fourth ECOL contest of the season. Marietta won the game thanks in large part to the damage they did at the free throw line; shooting 32 free throws to Zanesville's nine. Kailee Howe had 18 points and ten rebounds in the loss. Zanesville now must win on Saturday against Dover, and hope for a Marietta loss against River View to create a three way split of the Scarlet Division title.

Rosecrans 70 Claymont 47

The Lady Bishops secure at least a share of the Grey Division title, winning with ease on the road against the Mustangs. Alexis Kirkbride leading all scorers with 19 points. Rosecrans now needs a win Saturday against Coshocton or a River View loss to Marietta to secure the outright ECOL Grey Division Championship

Coshocton 21 River View 56

The Lady Bears win on senior night to maintain a chance for a share of the ECOL Gray title. Sam Ringwalt leading the Lady Bears with 13 points in the victory over the Coshocton County rival. River View must now win on Saturday against Marietta and hope for a Rosecrans loss to Coshocton to claim a share of the Grey title.

West Muskingum 59 John Glenn 44

The Lady Nados take the win over the Muskies, with Amy Graham leading all scorers with 13 points. West now needs a win over Morgan Saturday to earn a split of the MVL girls crown with the winner of the Maysville/Tri-Valley game.

Tri-Valley 58 Philo 40

The Lady Dawgs keep pace in the MVL race with a convicning victory over the Lady Electrics. The game was close early; Tri-Valley had just a three point lead after one quarter, and a five point lead at half. Amariah Huck leading Tri-Valley with 12 points, with Kalee Hamilton and Katie Prince both scoring 10 points each. Mallary Trout had 19 points in a losing effort for the Electrics. Tri-Valley now must win Saturday when they host Maysville and hope for a West Muskingum loss to Morgan to win the MVL girls title outright.

Crooksville 38 Maysville 54

The Lady cats make senior night a special one, avenging an eariler season loss to the Ceramics in the process. In her final home game, Karen Sidwell leading all scorers with 21 points. With a win on the road against Tri-Valley Saturday coupled with a West M loss to Morgan, Maysville will repeat as outright MVL Champions.
