In a year that has seen the leader of the MVL and ECOL combine for one loss total, the rest of the state of Ohio has failed to take notice.
Today, the weekly Associated Press Poll was released and unbeaten Maysville was left out of the top 10 in Division II, while Rosecrans, who has just one loss checked in at ninth in Division IV.
Maysville is one of five unbeatens left in the state in Division II and the other four are ranked in the top five in Division II. The Lady Big Cats didn't even earn enough points to be in the top 11. West Holmes, Kettering Alter, Clinton Massie, and Athens all received first place votes this week in the polls, and are the other four unbeatens in Division II. Steubenville who is also in the East District checked in at number nine with a record of 17-1.
In Division IV, Eastern earned the number one spot follwed by Newark Catholic, Hiland, and Bridgeport. The Lady Green Wave have two losses in close games this season, while Hiland also has two losses. Bridgeport and Eastern are both unbeaten along with Perry, who is fifth and Conotton Valley, who is sixth. Rosecrans' lone loss of the season came on the road at number one Eastern earlier this season. Since then, the Lady Bishops have beaten Stow and number seven in Division I, Fort Frye, number 10 in Division III. The Lady Bishops have games left with River View, John Glenn, and #6 Conotton Valley this seaosn.
The state tournament draw will take place this Sunday in Cambridge, where the East District will have to seed their teams and map out a path to the State Championship.
