Tri-Valley defeated West Muskingum, 4-0, to win the MVL girls' soccer title. The Lady Dawgs scored three goals in the second half.

Joe Harley fired a 76 and New Lexington joined John Glenn for the right to play in the Division II state golf tournament by shooting a 324. The Panthers edged Unioto by just a single stroke to move on.

In boys soccer, Ryan Hammer netted a hat trick as John Glenn downed Philo, 11-0. The Muskies are outright MVL champs for the first time in school history.

Philo (11-1, 15-3) knocked off John Glenn (10-2, 14-4) to gain sole possession of first place in MVL volleyball.

In boys soccer, Lane Dailey scored a pair of goals and Logan McLaughlin found the net once as Bishop Rosecrans defeated Coshocton, 3-0, in ECOL play.

Coming in, Cincinnati was expected to give Ohio State a battle Saturday night in Columbus. The Bearcats were able to hang around for three quarter but ultimately, it was the Buckeyes that showed why they rule the state of Ohio.

Bishop Rosecrans tied Claymont, 7-7, early in the first quarter, but saw that lead slip away as the Mustangs' offense handled the Bishops, 55-20.

Claymont improves to 2-3 on the year while Rosecrans drops to 1-4.

Ohio took care of FCS foe Eastern Illinois, 34-19, while Muskingum downed previously unbeaten Capital, 36-20, for its first win of the season.

The Muskies were down, 13-10, before storming back to the tune of three unanswered scores to go up, 30-13.

Backup Bobcat quarterback J.D. Sprague--filling in for an injured Derrius Vick--led the 'Cats to their third win on the year.
