West Muskingum Tornado Sabrina Madson officially realized her dream of playing college basketball on Wednesday, signing a letter of intent to Fairmont State.

The forward plans to major in education at the Division II school, which is located about two and a half hours away in Fairmont, W.Va.

Those of you who can't make it to the Maysville Panthers game against Beechcroft or those who would like to see it again can tune in to WHIZ-TV Saturday morning.

The Panthers versus the Cougars, from Gahanna Lincoln Stadium is this week's WHIZ-TV Football Game of the Week.

The game will air Saturday at 11am. The Division IV opponents come into this week with matching 10-1 records.

Over 11,000 fans turned out to watch the Ohio Bobcats host Division III Marietta in Saul Phillips' unofficial coaching debut for the Green and White. The 'Cats struggled in the first half, trailing the Pioneers, 40-37, but rallied to win, 82-69. 

Maurice Ndour paced Ohio with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks.

The 'Cats officially open the season next week against Appalachain State.

Trimble and Caldwell won easily on Saturday night, setting up a matchup between the two unbeaten teams in Division 7, Region 25 next weekend.

Trimble (11-0) routed Symmes Valley (6-5), 55-8, at Glouster Memorial Stadium, while Caldwell (11-0) overcame a slow start to defeat Harvest Prep (8-3), 48-25, at Howard J. Devol Memorial Stadium.

The Tri-Valley Dawgs are in the driver's seat in Division 3, Region 9, having snatched up the top seed thanks to a perfect regular season. There's no question this team has its sights set on a deep run in the state tournament, and that run begins at home against New Philadelphia tonight

The "Battle of the Panthers" is just two days away as 4-seeded Licking Valley is set to host 5-seeded Maysville at Randy Baughman Stadium. Unlike most playoff matchups, these two teams know a thing or two about one another.

Maysville hosted Licking Valley in a scrimmage in August and the Blue and Gold came away with a 35-14 victory. But Maysville kicker Nate Valle says a lot has changed over the past three months.

The five-seeded Maysville Panthers (9-1) take on four-seeded Licking Valley (8-2) in the WHIZ-TV "Game of the Week." The game will be broadcast on WHIZ Saturday at 10 a.m.

For those wanting to hear the live action, Z92 will broadcast the game live on Friday night. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.

On Highway 103, top-seeded Tri-Valley (10-0) hosts eight-seeded New Philadelphia (7-3) in the Division III, Region 9 playoff action. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
