Newark charged back from an eight-point halftime deficit to take the lead over Lakota West on multiple occasions in the second half before falling to the Firebirds, 53-50, at the Schottenstein Center. 

Kym Royster paced the Lady Wildcats with 20 points-- 17 of which came in the second half-- and 15 rebounds. Three Firebirds tallied 11 points.

Dover gave John Glenn quite the ball game, but the Muskies survived in overtime, 49-45, to advance to the regional final. Matt Weir scored a game-high 17 for the winning side. 

The Muskies are set to meet Walnut Ridge at the Convo on Saturday. The Scots overcame a double-digit deficit to upset Unioto, 46-45. 

Tip-off is at 3 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on Z92.

Sheridan wrestlers Nathaniel Kehn (113) and Evan Loughman (285) fell in the state semifinal Friday night at the Schottenstein Center. Despite the losses, both still have a chance to finish as high as third place.

Defending state champ Kade Kowalski (145) of Tri-Valley was also eliminated from winning a state title after falling in the quarterfinals, but won twice to advance to the consolation bracket semifinal.

Camden Craig scored the game-winner with 10 seconds left to help Tri-Valley upend 6-seed New Albany, 52-48, at Jimmy Allen Gymnasium. The Dawgs march on to battle Newark in the district final this Saturday at 8:30 p.m. at Ohio Dominican University.
