On January 16th, 1985 a skinny kid named Jay Burson capitvated area basketball fans when he broke Ohio's all-time scoring record. He ended his career with 2,958 points, a record that's stood for 22 years.

Muskingum beat Capital once on the road this season. The Crusaders weren't about to let it happen again.

Fresh off their fourth straight Division III World Series appearance and under the guidance of the NCAA Division III all-time winningest coach Donna Newberry, the Muskingum College softball team was ranked first in the 2007 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Preseason Top 25 poll.

As River View inches closer toward a state championship, the career of one of the school's all-time best also nears a close.

Nothing is guaranteed in the tournament, but if the Lady Bears live up to the expectations, they should have six games left to play this season. That would put them in the state title game.

It would also mark the final game and storied career of senior Kristin Daugherty.

A Southeast Ohio Athletic League Championship would have also won Zanesville the Power Poll Championship. Instead, the Blue Devils overtime loss to Chillicothe Saturday gives the title to their rival, Newark.

The Muskingum Men and Women both got the job done when they needed it most.

The Men came into the game needing a win and a Mt. Union loss in order to get into the OAC Tournament.

After being down by four at halftime Head Coach Geno Ford got his players in the right mindset for the second half as Muskingum came away with a 78-66 win. The Muskie got part two of the equation when Ohio Northern beat Mt. Union 74-59 Saturday afternoon.
