For two seasons Tri-Valley senior Andy Kilgore dominated the MVL. Now the state has also taken notice.

Already tabbed the MVL and Eastern District Player of the Year, the Associated Press has named Kilgore to the the Division II first team All-Ohio.

The River View Lady Bears came into the season with high expectations.

After all they returned pretty much everybody of consequence from last year's team that finished just one game away from the state final 4.

The 2005-2006 basketball season certainly didn't start the way the Lady Black Bears envisioned it.

But after dropping their season opener to West Holmes the girls from River View ripped off 24 straight, including wins in the sectional, regional and district finals.

Now they have their eyes on a much bigger prize, the state title.

D3hoops.com has announced that Muskingum College sophomore guard Brandon Todd has been named to the first team All-Great Lakes Region Division III Basketball Squad.

Todd led the team in scoring and assists with 17.7 points per game and six assists per contest. Furthermore, he ranked first in the OAC in assists and second in scoring. Rosecrans senior Joe Dalton thought his high school basketball career came to an end last Saturday when the Bishops lost to Berlin Hiland in a District Final.

As it turns out, the 1,000-point scorer will get one more chance to shine as a prep athlete.

A day after River View's Kristin Daugherty is named first team All-Ohio in Division II, Newark Catholic's Sarah Clapper claims the same honor in Division IV.
