CROOKSVILLE - From the moment Larry Eyman III picks up his bow to when his arrow pierces its target, the Crooksville junior is one of the top high school archers in the country.

"He just gets up there and he's standing in a spot and he's in the zone," said his dad, Larry Eyman Jr. "He's the only one in the building at that point."

"You get a possible score of 300 and my average is around 297," the younger Eyman said.

Coshocton graduate Conner Roahrig and Newark Catholic graduate Danielle Evans were two of the 36 recipients of this year's OHSAA Scholar-Athlete Scholarships.

Roahrig was a standout in multiple sports during his four year career at Coshocton, earning Special Mention All-Ohio honors and was a first-team All-ECOL selection in basketball his senior season.  He also was also named ECOL Player of the Year in soccer.

Evans also had an outstanding career at Newark Catholic.  ...

 AKRON, Ohio (AP) — In his first start since winning the U.S. Open, Dustin Johnson won another World Golf Championship on Sunday.

Johnson ran off three birdies on the back nine at Firestone and closed with a 4-under 66 to win the Bridgestone Invitational. He was helped in part by a surprising collapse by Jason Day.

Day, the world's No. 1 player, was tied for the lead when he hooked a 3-wood off the tee on the par-5 16th, hit across the fairway and tried to bend a shot...

The Licking County Settlers fell to the Richmond Jazz 2-1, ending their seven-game winning streak. The Settlers hit the diamond Saturday at Bob Wren Stadium against the Southern Ohio Copperheads

A person with direct knowledge of the negotiations tells The Associated Press that Mike Conley is staying with the Memphis Grizzlies after agreeing to a five-year, $153 million deal.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity Friday because the deal cannot be finalized until at least July 7, when the NBA's offseason moratorium on player movement ends. The person said the agreement is in principle and the two sides were hammering out the final details.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The 12-under Muskingum County Muckdogs showed up on a big stage, finishing second at The Youth Baseball Nationals.

The Muckdogs enjoyed a sizzling hot start in pool play, outscoring opponents 53-19 and posting a 4-1 record. The Zanesville Titans looked for their second win in three games taking on Lancanster Post 11.  The Titans would come within one run, but Lancaster would win 6-3.

The Licking County Settlers won their third straight game with an 8-1 victory over the Grand Lake Mariners.  Robert Emery led the offensive attack with three base hits.  Licking County has now won their last five of six games.

CINCINNATI (AP) — The Reds have formally retired Pete Rose's No. 14, capping a big weekend for baseball's hits king.

Big crowds filled Great American Ball Park for the three days of celebration, which had to be approved by Major League Baseball because of Rose's lifetime ban for betting on his team. The last-place Reds have played in front of small crowds for much of the season.

They stretched the celebration into an entire weekend, honoring their 1976 World Series...
