A new organization of minority basketball and football coaches is calling for changes in NCAA eligibility standards set to be enforced in 2016.

DESTIN, Fla. (AP) — Southeastern Conference Commissioner Mike Slive is handing over the reins to Greg Sankey sooner than expected.

NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Old Dominion men's basketball coach Jeff Jones has prostate cancer and will undergo surgery on Monday.

Jones says in a release from the school that a check-up in late 2014 revealed that he had an elevated PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) level. He says he had follow-up tests during the season and a biopsy in April confirmed the cancer.

DESTIN, Fla. (AP) — The powerful Southeastern Conference is now the NCAA's richest league.

Thanks to the successful debut of the SEC Network, the conference generated an NCAA-record $455.8 million in revenue in 2014-15. The league's revenue was $309.6 million last year.
