ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Lions have ruled out running back Joique Bell, tight end Eric Ebron and defensive tackle Haloti Ngata for their game against the Arizona Cardinals.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The puck is set to drop for the four-team National Women's Hockey League.

The league will open its first season Sunday, with the New York Riveters traveling to Stamford to face the Connecticut Whale, and the Buffalo Beauts hosting the Boston Pride.

Each team will play an 18-game schedule that runs through the end of February.

CARY, N.C. (AP) — Bernhard Langer shot a 7-under 65 in windy conditions Friday to take a two-stroke lead in the Champions Tour's SAS Championship.

The 58-year-old German star had seven birdies in a bogey-free round at Prestonwood Country Club. He won the Senior Players Championship in June for his 24th victory on the 50-and-over tour.

TORONTO (AP) — Toronto Blue Jays slugger Josh Donaldson got into a shouting match with Rangers reliever Keone Kela in the 13th inning in Game 2 of the AL Division Series on Friday, causing the benches and benches to briefly empty.

CHISINAU, Moldova (AP) — Russia took a big step toward qualifying for Euro 2016 on Friday as a 2-1 win over Moldova strengthened its hold on second place in Group G.

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Carolina Hurricanes defenseman James Wisniewski will need surgery for a knee injury.

The team said in release Friday that Wisniewski will have surgery to repair a torn left anterior cruciate ligament and will face an estimated six-month recovery time. He was injured during Thursday's game at Nashville after skating just 47 seconds in his debut with the Hurricanes.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Center Mike Richards and the Los Angeles Kings have settled their dispute over the termination of Richards' contract after his arrest in June.

The NHL Players' Association announced the settlement Friday, making Richards an unrestricted free agent.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police and school officials say a walk-on punter for No. 20 UCLA has been arrested for investigation of rape.

Los Angeles police said Friday that Adam Searl's arrest came after an investigation lasting nearly a year.

Police say that last October, a UCLA student reported that she had met the suspect at an off-campus party and he returned home with her. She told investigators she awoke to find him sexually assaulting her....
