ZAGREB, Croatia (AP) — Croatian police have raided the homes and offices of the Dinamo Zagreb bosses who are suspected of tax evasion and bribery.

Dinamo president Zdravko Mamic and his brother, coach Zoran Mamic, have been under investigation by the Croatian bureau for combating corruption and organized crime. The bureau says Thursday it was "collecting urgent evidence" during the raids.

PARIS (AP) — Usain Bolt's Jamaica teammate Asafa Powell believes the world record holder's struggle with injury and poor form is "just a phase" and not the beginning of the end for the sprinter.

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan (AP) — As South Korea battles to contain an outbreak of the deadly MERS virus, some foreign athletes are turning their back on the country.

Russian world champion gymnasts and the entire national sports team from the Central Asian nation of Turkmenistan will not compete at this month's University Games in Gwangju due to the virus, which has killed 33 people in the country so far. More than 2,000 more are in quarantine.

BERLIN (AP) — Swiss justice officials say they have received a formal request from the United States to extradite seven FIFA officials arrested in Zurich in May.

The Federal Office of Justice said Thursday the requests were received July 1, within the deadline required by a bilateral treaty.

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) — A southwest Ohio prosecutor says a former University of Dayton basketball player convicted of trespassing charges has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and ordered to pay restitution.

Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. says 21-year-old Jalen Robinson, of Columbus, was sentenced Wednesday for his part in a series of campus burglaries in December. Robinson was found guilty last month of three counts of trespass in a habitation....
