TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Adam Toth hit a two-run homer to help give Baylor an early lead and the Bears held on to edge Texas Tech 5-4 in a pool play elimination game Friday in the Big 12 Tournament.

MIAMI (AP) — David Beckham and the University of Miami are discussing a possible partnership for a new stadium for both Major League Soccer and college football.

Beckham was in town for a meeting Friday, and outgoing University of Miami president Donna Shalala has been involved in discussions this week. Among the locations being considering is a site near the old Orange Bowl, which has been torn down, next to Marlins Park.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Logan Sowers hit a grand slam and Indiana stayed alive in the Big Ten Tournament by beating Iowa 10-2 in an elimination game Friday.

The sixth-seeded Hoosiers (34-21) advanced to face fourth-seeded Maryland (38-20) on Saturday.

NEW YORK (AP) — Japanese reliever Kyuji Fujikawa was placed on waivers Friday by the Texas Rangers to give him his unconditional release.

The Rangers had designated Fujikawa for assignment Sunday after the right-hander made only two appearances for them, allowing three runs in 1 2-3 innings. General manager Jon Daniels said then that Fujikawa had indicated that he didn't want to go back to the minor leagues.

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Skye Bolt homered and drove in four runs, and North Carolina beat Clemson 6-3 on Friday at the Atlantic Coast Conference baseball tournament.

J.B. Bukauskas (5-3) struck out seven in 5 2-3 innings for the eighth-seeded Tar Heels (34-24), who finished pool play with a 1-2 record.

FRENCH LICK, Ind. (AP) — Tom Lehman shot a 5-under 67 on Friday on the difficult Pete Dye Course at French Lick Resort to take the second-round lead in the Senior PGA Championship.

The 56-year-old Lehman birdied three of his first four holes and finished with six birdies and a bogey to reach 4 under. He had a one-stroke lead over playing partner Colin Montgomerie and Brian Henninger.

Lehman won the 2010 tournament in Colorado.

BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Red Sox have recalled outfielder Rusney Castillo from Triple-A.

Outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. was optioned to Pawtucket to make room for Castillo on the roster. The Cuban native started in right field in Friday night's game against the Los Angeles Angels.

CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago White Sox right fielder Avisail Garcia was scratched from Friday's lineup against the Minnesota Twins because of inflammation in his right knee.

Garcia, batting .319 with four homers and 18 RBIs, was lifted for a pinch runner in the 10th inning of Monday's win over Cleveland but played in the next three games.

With Garcia out, J.B. Shuck is starting in right and batting seventh.
