TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — An appeals court has ruled that juvenile court hearings for seven New Jersey high school students charged in a football hazing investigation will remain closed to the media.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The Panthers announced they have released safety Thomas DeCoud and re-signed offensive lineman Chris Scott to a one-year deal.

Contract details were not available on Tuesday.

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (AP) — Seton Hall has suspended leading scorer Sterling Gibbs for two games for delivering a forearm to the face of Villanova's Ryan Arcidiacono in the second half of their Big East Conference game in Philadelphia on Monday night.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Former Tennessee linebacker A.J. Johnson has turned himself in on a charge of aggravated rape.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office issued a release saying Johnson had turned himself in Tuesday and was released on $40,000 bond. Suspended Tennessee defensive back Michael Williams also is charged with aggravated rape.
