NEW YORK (AP) — Former NBA great Yao Ming will help provide instruction at the Basketball without Borders camp during All-Star weekend in Toronto.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida likely will be without starting forward Justin Leon against No. 9 West Virginia on Saturday.

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Lions have hired Matt Harriss as vice president for football administration.

Harriss joins the Lions after spending 10 seasons with the New York Giants' football operations department. In his first year with the Giants, Harriss assisted Ernie Accorsi, who then was in his final season with the team.

Accorsi, a former GM of the Giants, is now a special adviser to Lions team president Rod Wood.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Athletics catcher Stephen Vogt has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow that is expected to be fully healed by opening day.
