NEW YORK (AP) — Jets owner Woody Johnson gives his team positive reviews following its first season under coach Todd Bowles and general manager Mike Maccagnan, saying "so far, so good."

The Jets finished 10-6 but missed the playoffs after losing at Buffalo in the regular-season finale. Still, Johnson says it was a good season, although "it's not where we want to be." He adds that the loss to the Bills still stings, but the franchise now needs to focus on the future....

NEW YORK (AP) — Indycott beat even-money favorite Our Caravan by a length Friday in the $73,500 allowance feature at Aqueduct.

It was one of three wins for Kendrick Carmouche, tying Jose Ortiz for most by a rider on the card.

The 6-year-old gelding trained by Danny Gargan improved to 9 for 33. The time was 1:45.29 for the 1 1/16 miles.

The 4-1 third choice, Indycott paid $10.60, $3.20 and $2.90.

SAN DIEGO (AP) — Chargers Chairman Dean Spanos says the team will play in San Diego in 2016 and he'll work with politicians and the business community to try to resolve a long, bitter battle over a new stadium.

Spanos' statement was posted on the team's web site shortly after a report said the Chargers had reached a deal to join the Los Angeles Rams in a stadium expected to open in Inglewood in 2019.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Twins will have three new guest instructors at spring training, former players Rick Aguilera, LaTroy Hawkins and Torii Hunter.

General manager Terry Ryan said Friday that Hawkins will arrive when camp opens Feb. 21, Hunter will start Feb. 26 and Aguilera will arrive March 10. Ryan reached out to each of them. BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Boise State has hired Zak Hill as its quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator and promoted offensive line coach Scott Huff to share coordinator duties with Hill.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Recently retired outfielder Torii Hunter and former radio announcer John Gordon have been elected to the Minnesota Twins Hall of Fame.

The Twins announced Friday that Hunter and Gordon will be inducted in separate pregame ceremonies July 16 and 17. They'll become the 27th and 28th members.

Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink says the club is in the process of acquiring 20-year-old defender Matt Miazga from Major League Soccer's New York Red Bulls.

Speaking at a news conference Friday, Hiddink said, "He will be one of the squad members for the rest of the season, a young guy stepping up to the national team," according to Chelsea's website.
