OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Pitcher Lauren Haeger had two hits and allowed just one in a complete-game victory as defending champion Florida defeated Tennessee 7-2 Thursday in the opening game of the Women's College World Series.

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — The San Jose Earthquakes' new state-of-the-art venue, Avaya Stadium, will host the 2016 Major League Soccer All-Star Game.

MLS Deputy Commissioner Mark Abbott made the announcement Thursday at Avaya. Commissioner Don Garber didn't attend at the last-minute with no reason given.

Abbott says, "it's world-class, it's spectacular and the whole world's going to get to see it." The game will be in late July next year....

NEW YORK (AP) — The Stanley Cup Final will open on Wednesday with Game 1 in New York, Tampa or Anaheim.

The NHL announced Thursday that Game 1 will be at Madison Square Garden if the Rangers beat the Lightning in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference final on Friday night.

PEORIA, Ill. (AP) — It's been almost half a century since Bradley's baseball team played in the NCAA Tournament but the Braves' wait ends Friday.

Bradley (35-19) made the 64-team field and will play in the Louisville Regional. The Braves first face Michigan (37-23) on Friday in the double-elimination opening round.
