NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Ryan Spooner scored his first NHL goal with 2:14 left in overtime and the Boston Bruins defeated the New Jersey Devils 3-2 on Friday night after blowing a two-goal third-period lead.

DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit Tigers have signed reliever Ryan Perry to a minor league deal, bringing the right-hander back to the organization that drafted him in the first round in 2008.

Perry hasn't pitched in the major leagues since 2012, when he appeared in seven games for the Washington Nationals. He pitched for the Tigers from 2009-11.

CHICAGO (AP) — Forward Taj Gibson has left the Chicago Bulls' game against Minnesota with a left ankle injury.

Gibson rolled his ankle late in the first quarter and was replaced by Nikola Mirotic. The Bulls then announced that Gibson would not return to Friday night's game.
